H onor, integrity, realistic self-respect, love of country. After being slandered and ripped off in family court, these are not the words that would come to mind for most American men. The U.S. government has federalized child support and implemented draconian penalties and Orwellian collections systems that would be enough to make even our founding fathers question their love of country. But tough times are the very moments when we need to keep these values in sight.
It's easy to be patriotic when life is a bowl of cherries. It's much harder when you're face-to-face with a dysfunctional family court system and an even more dysfunctional and disgraceful child support collections system, both of which, to an extent, are the product of federal laws.
I was an average father living in urban Blue America before separating from my wife six years ago. My confidence in my city, my country, and
myself have been shaken by my experience with the family court system. All have remained intact in spite of everything. Other men might be helped by my experience. Welcome to father's rights for the urban intellectual.
